Recognizing Early Childhood Delays and the Referral Process
In this class participants will learn about research-based developmental milestones in early childhood development and explore various ways to monitor a child’s progress. Participants will explore the difference between assessments and screenings and strategies to develop individualized plans for children based on this information.
Participants will also gain an understanding of the referral process for special education services including: when to refer a child for evaluation, where to start the referral process, what information should be available to share during the referral process, and how to best support parents throughout the process.
